NANTUCKET – Thanksgiving has passed and that means the Nantucket Historical Association’s annual Festival of Trees is just around the corner.
The Festival of Trees transforms the Whaling Museum into a festive wonderland and features community-crafted trees designed by local merchants, nonprofits, artists and kids.
The festival kicks off during Nantucket’s Stroll weekend and runs from December 2 through the end of the month.
The museum will feature extended hours for the opening night of the festival next Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
From December 3-24 the festival will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The festival will be closed on Christmas Day but will be open daily from December 26-31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission is $5 for year-round residents of Nantucket and is free for NHA members and children under 6. General Admission for non-residents is $20 per person and $18 for students and seniors.
The preview party held the night before the festival opens is sold out.
