NANTUCKET – The Nantucket Historical Association kicks off the holiday season this week with its 18th Annual Festival of Wreaths.

The festival features an array of wreaths crafted by local businesses, nonprofits, schools and organizations.

Wreaths will be on display during Thanksgiving week from November 23-27 in the Whaling Museum on Broad Street.

Visitors can bid on the wreaths in a silent auction to benefit the NHA and its outreach programs.

A preview party and silent auction kickoff event will be held on Tuesday, November 22 from 5 to 7 p.m.

The preview will provide attendees with the first opportunity to view this year’s designs and start making bids. Tickets for the party are $50 and are available at nha.org.

The silent auction will take place throughout the duration of the festival with winning bidders to be announced Sunday, November 27, the last day of the festival, at 2:30 p.m.

Festival hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., but will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

The event is free and open to the public.
