Film and Discussion Series Returns to Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary

WELLFLEET – The Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is inviting members of the public to take part in a special event later this month.

The non-profit organization, in partnership with the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater, will be sponsoring their 6th annual Sea Change environmental film and discussion series.

In honor of Wellfleet Bay’s 60th anniversary, the theme this year is birds.

The first film is Rara Avis: John James Audubon and The Birds of America, a documentary about the life of a man famous for his landmark collection of bird portraits documenting and celebrating avian life as it was known in mid-19th century America.

Birds of May details the competing interests of Red Knots, a declining shorebird, The series concludes with The Central Park Effect, an entertaining profile of the birdwatching community of Central Park, an important stop for migrating birds on the Atlantic Flyway.
