Public Forum on Nuclear Waste to Be Held on Cape Cod

FALMOUTH – Local groups that are advocating for the immediate closure of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth, are holding a film and public forum in Falmouth and Wellfleet.

Both events, which take place on April 27 at the Falmouth Public Library and April 28 at the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater, will feature the documentary “Containment” with discussion to follow.

Karen Vale of Cape Cod Bay Watch, Heather Lightner of Concerned Neighbors of Pilgrim and Bill Maurer of Cape Downwinders will participate in the Falmouth forum.

Former Cape and Islands State Senator Dan Wolf, Vale and Diane Turco of the Cape Downwinders will take part in the Wellfleet forum.

Both Wolf and Lightner are appointed members of the state Decommissioning Panel on Pilgrim.
