FALMOUTH – The Cape Downwinders will screen the documentary “Containment” and discuss a local ballot initiative which calls on spent fuel at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant be moved into dry cask storage.

“Containment” looks at the future impacts from nuclear waste which could arise over hundreds of generations.

The events begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at Falmouth Public Library and Friday at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater.

The Wellfleet event will feature short presentations by former Cape and Islands State Senator Dan Wolf and Karen Vale from Cape Cod Bay Watch. Vale and Heather Lightner, of Concerned Citizens of Pilgrim, will make presentations at the Falmouth event.

Wolf and Lightner are appointed members of the state decommissioning panel on Pilgrim.

The plant is scheduled to close in the spring of 2019.
