Finalists for the Town Manager in Provincetown Presented to Town’s Select Board

PROVINCETOWN – Finalists for the town manager job in Provincetown were presented to the Select Board yesterday.

The board plans to conduct interviews with the candidates next month.

David Gardner, who was the Assistant Town Manager, has been serving as acting town manager since former town manager David Panagore left earlier this year.

Panagore took a job at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, however he still lives in town and was recently appointed as an alternate to the town’s Finance Committee.

All finalists will have individual discussions with Gardner and Finance Director Josee Cardinal Young on December 16th.

An open house reception will follow the meetings from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Provincetown Commons.

The Select Board will then interview the candidates at 5 p.m. in a public meeting.

The board will reconvene the following day to discuss and vote on the next town manager.

A new manager would likely start at the earliest in January or February.
