Firefighters Knock Down Fire at Yarmouth Nursing Home

img_6665YARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that broke out this morning at the Mayflower Place nursing facility.

The blaze started at the Buck Island Road building around 11 a.m.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming out of one of the facility’s units.

Crews quickly extinguished the fire after it had been contained by a sprinkler system.

The room’s occupant was able to leave the room without suffering any injuries.

A Hyannis fire crew assisted at the scene.
