First Baptist Church Hyannis to Host Interfaith Gun Violence Service of Remembrance

HYANNIS – To mark the sixth anniversary of the infamous Newtown, Connecticut elementary school shooting, the First Baptist Church Hyannis will be hosting a national interfaith gun violence service of remembrance.

Participating is James Kershner, Cape Cod Sangha; Rabbi David Freelund, Cape Cod Synagogue; the Reverend Jonathan Singer, First Baptist; the Reverend Kate Epperly, South Congregational Church; the Reverend Philomena Hare, Federated Church, Hyannis; and musician Alecia Matthewson.

The service will be followed by a brief vigil of recommitment.

The service will be held on Friday at 5:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Hyannis, located at 486 Main Street.

The event is co-sponsored by Cape Cod Grandmothers Against Gun Violence and Church Women United of Cape Cod.
