BOSTON – The first ever Massachusetts Fallen Heroes Patriot Week is underway across the state.
Patriot Week honors American servicemen and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty and their families.
A week-long educational program will take place in many schools across the state including Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School.
A 50-foot memorial in Boston will be dedicated Friday.
Other events this week include a fashion show on Tuesday at the Coppersmith Bar in South Boston and a softball game at Fenway Park and a Patriot Fest Concert at Blue Hills Pavilion on Saturday.
The Massachusetts Fallen Heroes 5K Road Race was held on Saturday at Carson Beach in South Boston.
Patriot Week runs through Memorial Day.
