First Family Set to Arrive Saturday for Vineyard Vacation

Obama - 2CHILMARK – Familiar visitors will once again return to Martha’s Vineyard this weekend.

President Barack Obama and family begin their annual vacation on the island on Saturday. The Obamas are expected on the Vineyard for two weeks.

This marks the seventh, and most likely final visit, to the island during Obama’s presidency. The Obamas have visited Martha’s Vineyard every year since 2009, with the exception of 2012.

The first family generally keeps a low profile during their visit. President Obama often plays golf during his visit and the family has spent time at the beach. The President and family have been known to watch the annual fireworks display in Oak Bluffs.

No public events are scheduled during the visit.

The first family is expected to again stay at a home in Chilmark.
