BREWSTER – An inaugural offering by First Citizens Federal Credit Union and Cape Cod Museum Trail will make it easier for people to ‘museum-hop’ this month.

The first Museum Month, from October 1 through the 31, will allow museum-goers $1 off admission per person for up to four people at 12 museums across the Cape.

In order to take advantage of the deals, visitors must present an official discount pass at participating museums. These can be found at all First Citizen’s locations on Cape Cod, as well as on their website, www.firstcitizens.org.

Leslie Paulin, Director of Marketing at First Citizens, said a sense of cooperation between museums is helping them to promote each other.

“It’s amazing to see what’s on the Cape – we’re almost at 40 museums here, from art to maritime,” Paulin said.

Founder of the Cape Cod Museum Trail Glenn Ritt said the area’s museums are a critical part of the economy.

“The incredible diversity of museums encompass virtually every aspect of our quality of life, the entertainment world on the Cape is fully non-profit and we don’t think about that enough,” Ritt said.

Participating museums this year include: Atwood House, Cape Cod Children’s Museum, Cape Cod Maritime Museum, Cape Cod Museum of Art, Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Chatham Marconi Maritime Museum, Coast Guard Heritage Museum, John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum, Pilgrim Monument & Provincetown Museum, Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Sandwich Glass Museum and Thorton W. Burgess Society/Green Briar Nature Center & Jam Kitchen.
