FisherPoets Event to Celebrate Cape’s Fishing Heritage

PoetsCHATHAM – Cape Cod’s fishing heritage will be the focus of a creative celebration later this month in Chatham.

Pilgrims Landing on Main Street will host the 3rd annual Cape Cod FisherPoets on Wednesday, August 31 at 7 p.m.

The non-profit organization and interspiritual life center’s mission is to inspire, support and accompany individuals on a journey toward a more compassionate and peaceful world through educational programs, meaningful experiences and a variety of resources.

The fishermen and fishing family-led event celebrates the fishing heritage of Cape Cod through music, storytelling, poetry and art.

The event will feature performances by Chatham fisherman Andy Neil, poetry by Carol Laduke, of Provicetown, and the Cape’s only fisherfolk rock band, the SeaFire Kids.

The celebration is open to the public and for all ages. Admission is $10 at the door.
