PLYMOUTH – Three-time Super Bowl Champion and cancer survivor Joe Andruzzi and his wife Jen will host a golf tournament and fundraiser in Plymouth on June 27.

The eighth annual Joe Andruzzi and Friends Golf Tournment will be held at the Pinehills Golf Club.

The event will raise money for JAF, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing emotional and financial support to cancer patients and their families.

“We’re coming back again this year with a whole bunch of games and activities and it’s just a fun day out,” said Andruzzi. “I’m not a golfer, but I enjoy it and it’s all about going out and having fun and paying it forward.”

Andruzzi, a former offensive guard for the New England Patriots, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2007 and was treated at Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Andruzzi was disease-free in less than a year and he has dedicated his time to support other cancer patients and help fund life-saving research.

Current Patriot players attending the event include Nate Solder, Patrick Chung, Matt Slater and Bryan Stork.

Since the inception of the annual tournament in 2008, the event has raised over $1.3 million, allowing JAF to support more than 1,880 cancer patients and their families.

Last year’s tournament raised $265,000.

“We’re there for one reason, and that’s to help these patients during the toughest time of their life,” said Andruzzi.
