Former Sandwich Superintendent Not Happy with Settlement

gavelSANDWICH – The Town of Sandwich has cut a check made payable to former superintendent Mary Ellen Johnson for $463,000.

Johnson had sued the town after the school committee voted to sever her contract with the town.

Town attorney John Davis said the town has fulfilled its legal obligation and now considers the case closed.

He has a filed a notice of satisfaction of judgment with the court.

Johnson has expressed dissatisfaction with the settlement.

Calls to her attorneys seeking comment were unsuccessful.
