Forum Planned on Brewster Pot Regulations

BREWSTER – Town officials in Brewster will hold a forum on recreational marijuana regulations Tuesday.

The discussion comes as the town drafts rules for pot shops. Voters in the fall defeated a ban and moratorium on recreational marijuana at town meeting.

The current proposal calls for limiting the number of pot shops that can open up in Brewster to one. The retail marijuana store would be allowed in the Brewster village district along Route 6A.

The number of manufacturing and cultivation establishments would be limited to the same amount of medical marijuana dispensaries allowed in town.

The forum will be held at Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters on Main Street from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Voters will have to approve the draft bylaws at Special Town Meeting on March 12.
