SANDWICH – Fire officials in Sandwich are still on scene fighting a fire that broke out this morning just after 6:30. While the fire is under control, the firefighters are prepared to be at the site for three or four hours.
The building where the blaze occurred is owned by New Bedford Waste Services and located at 295 Service Road.
It contained construction materials which will all have to be removed and checked before the blaze is officially called as extinguished.
Officials said they expect to be on scene for the next several hours conducting operations.
The blaze ultimately grew to four alarms and involved several Cape fire departments.
