WEST BARNSTABLE – From now until April 17th, both faculty and students of Cape Cod Community College’s Business Program are offering free tax preparation services as part of the Volunteer Tax Assistance Program.
They are trained by the IRS.
The service is available to individuals and families with low to moderate income.
There is a list of documents which will be needed by the preparer, including ones showing income, deductions and proof of health insurance. A copy of last year’s return must also be presented.
Anyone who will have income shown on the return must provide a photo I.D. and social security card.
The volunteers will also “e-file” both the Federal and State returns for free.
Appointments are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, except during Spring break which runs from March 12th through the 17th.
For more information or to schedule an appointment, call Business Department Associate James Garland at 774-330-4932.
