Friends of Bass River Announces New Executive Director

SOUTH YARMOUTH – A newly-formed non-profit that’s dedicated to protecting the ecosystem of the Bass River Estuarine System, has a new Executive Director.

Friends of Bass River has announced Cape resident Ryan Mann to the position.

Mann was previously the Executive Director for the Westport Land Conservation Trust and Stewardship Director for the Harwich Conservation Trust.

“It’s just a really, really special place, where not many places, not only on the Cape but in the world, have such a dynamic impact as the Bass River,” said Mann.

In his new role, Mann will represent the group to the public, towns, government, civic groups, oversee all fundraising events and activities and manage teams of volunteers.

He will also be tasked with developing a diverse donor network and raising awareness of the environmental issues that the river currently faces.

“We have to make sure that it is in its pristine condition for future generations and it’s so important to the landscape of Cape Cod,” said Mann.
