YARMOUTH – Since launching in the Spring, Friends of Bass River, a non-profit dedicated to the protection of Cape Cod’s largest river, has been working to find ways to improve the degraded conditions of Bass River.
The organization is now seeking individuals and families interested in volunteering for a variety of duties to help save Bass River.
Join Executive Director Ryan Mann as he presents “The State of Bass River” and outlines ways the community can help.
The meeting will be held in the Thirwood Place auditorium beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4th, and will last about an hour.

Friends of Bass River is a group of private citizens dedicated to the guardianship of the ponds, coves and sub-basins of the Bass River Estuarine System.
Their mission, through monitoring, vigilance and direct management, is to help preserve and protect Bass River’s delicate ecosystem.
As one of the largest and most beautiful waterways on Cape Cod, the group says that Bass River is under an increased danger from elevated nitrogen levels that, if allowed to continue unabated, will further damage and may even permanently alter coastal life as we now know it.
