Friends of Cape Wildlife Developing 24/7 Hotline, Seeks Volunteers

SOUTH YARMOUTH – A Cape Cod non-profit organization that supports the compassionate care, advocacy and protection of wildlife is developing a 24/7 cloud-based wildlife hotline.

The Friends of Cape Wildlife is creating the hotline which will provide a responsive system of life-saving information to callers with live operators.

A free workshop to train volunteers on how to advise callers about non-lethal solutions for wildlife in distress will be held October 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the International Fund for Animal Welfare in South Yarmouth.

The workshop is designed to educate volunteers who would like to become a member of the wildlife hotline team of operators, rescuers and transporters. Local animal control officers, department of natural resources officers or municipal officials are also welcome to attend.
