Fundraiser Garners $16,000 For Chatham Helicopter Crash Victim

20160617 HELICOPTER CRASH CROWS POND CHATHAM 019CHATHAM – Members of the Cape Cod business community teamed up with the author of The Finest Hours for a special screening of the film adaption to raise money for a woman injured in a Chatham helicopter crash in June.

The Finest Hours for Tyra event was held at the Chatham Orpheum Theater and raised more than $16,000 to benefit Tyra Pacheco, who was critically hurt while taking aerial real estate photographs.

The money will support Pacheco’s rising medical costs. She is expected to be kept out of work for at least another six months as she recovers from the crash.

“The outpouring of generosity and kindness has been overwhelming and very much appreciated,” Pacheco said in a live skype conservation with the audience.

Following the screening of the film, a question and answer session was held with author Casey Sherman.

The main sponsors of the event included Kinlin Grover, Pine Acres Realty and Robert Paul Properties
