Fundraising Continues for Turf Field at Falmouth High School

fieldFALMOUTH – Supporters of constructing a 3 million dollar turf field at Falmouth High School are continuing their efforts to secure funding for the project.

Voters at town election rejected funding for the project this past Spring.

“As time goes on, more and more schools are converting over to turf, and of course one of the beauties of the turf if you can play in pretty much any weather conditions and the turf is the same,” said Mike Duffany, one of the residents spearheading the project.

Around 2 million dollars have already been raised for the project. Duffany says they’ll go before town meeting again in the Spring after fundraising in the fall and winter.

“We want to make sure we’ve done our due diligence with all of the various groups to make sure that everybody is on board.  So we want to spend that time educating ourselves and others and continuing to fundraise.”
