Gas Prices Down 1 Cent in Massachusetts

HYANNIS – Gas prices in Massachusetts dropped a penny over the past week.

AAA Northeast reports that the average price for self-serve, regular unleaded in the Bay State is $2.83 per gallon.

That price is two cents lower than the national average and 21 cents higher than the same time last year.

“Motorists in more than half the country are seeing cheaper or stable gas prices at the start of the workweek,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast. “Supply and demand are in sync as the Fall begins, though recent increases in crude oil will bear watching over the coming weeks.”

Prices on Cape Cod range from $2.69 to $3.14, according to GasBuddy.com.
