Gas Prices Down 3 More Cents in Massachusetts

HYANNIS – Prices at the pump continue to fall in Massachusetts as the summer season gets underway.

AAA Northeast reports that the average price of a gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded fell another 3 cents over the past week to $2.64.

That price is two cents lower than the national average and 23 cents lower than at the same time last year.

“Filling-up at the pump this summer could mean savings as much as a quarter a gallon,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast. “Cheaper prices could entice motorists to travel more and even take some last minute road trips.”

Prices on Cape Cod range from $2.55 to $2.99, according to GasBuddy.com.
