Gas Prices Down Another 3 Cents

HYANNIS – Gas prices are down another 3 cents over the past week in Massachusetts.

AAA Northeast reports that self-serve, regular unleaded gas is selling for an average of $2.80 per gallon in the state.

That price is four cents below the national average, but 59 cents higher than the same time last year.

“The national average for regular unleaded gasoline dropped three cents this week, and Massachusetts’ 3 cent drop reflects that downward trend,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast. “Crude oil prices are under $70 a barrel, and domestic oil production is at an all-time high—acting as buffer to price increases at the pump for motorists.”

According to GasBuddy.com, the prices on Cape Cod range from $2.79 to $3.09.
