HYANNIS – Gas prices in Massachusetts have dropped three cents over the last week.
AAA Northeast reports that self-serve, regular unleaded is selling for an average of $2.89 per gallon.
That price is three cents below the national average and 63 cents higher than the same time last year.
“Gas prices are falling across the country, while remaining more expensive than they were a year ago,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast. “The higher prices in recent weeks seem to be influencing driving habits. While consumer gasoline demand remains strong, it is slowing and not growing.”
Prices on Cape Cod range between $2.87 and $3.09, according to GasBuddy.com.
