HYANNIS – Massachusetts gas prices remain unchanged over the past week.
AAA Northeast reports the average price of self-serve, regular unleaded is $2.80 per gallon.
That price is one cent lower than the national average and is 35 cents higher than at this same time last year.
“Just like the outside temperature, motorists are seeing prices cool off,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast. “But these lower prices may not last. We expect that gas prices will likely start to increase as early as later this week, ahead of the November 4 Iran sanctions announcement and the mid-term elections.”
Prices on Cape Cod range from $2.69 to $3.15 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.
