HYANNIS – Gas prices in Massachusetts are unchanged from last week. AAA Northeast reports that the average price for a gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded in the Bay State is $2.83.
That price is four cents lower than the national average and 23 cents higher than at the same time last year.
“Despite a three-cent average increase nationally, gas prices in our area remain relatively stable,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast. “Right now, oil inventories are strong and demand is down. Analysts will be following recent jumps in crude oil prices to see if they have any impact for consumers at the pump.”
According to GasBuddy.com, prices on Cape Cod are between $2.69 and $3.14.
