Gas Prices Up 2 Cents

HYANNIS – Gas prices in Massachusetts are up 2 cents from last week.

AAA Northeast reports that the average price of a gallon of self-serve, regular in the Bay State is up to $2.50 per gallon.

The state average is 11 cents below the national average, but 33 cents higher than the same time last year.

Prices on Cape Cod range between $2.40 and $2.79, according to GasBuddy.com.

“With the arrival of spring, gas prices both locally and nationwide immediately became more expensive,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs. “Right now, we are seeing the market starting to purge winter-blend gasoline to make room for the more expensive summer blend.”
