Gills Club Aims to Educate Local Girls on Shark Science

BREWSTER – On Saturday, November 17th, the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History will be hosting the year’s first event on behalf of the Gills Club.

The Club is an education initiative of the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy dedicated to empowering the next generation of female shark scientists and providing young girls with hands on experience to help them pursue their passion of working with sharks.

To better accommodate the various ages of Gills Club members and engage them in shark education at a level that is age appropriate, the organization will be splitting the Gills Club events into two sections for the 2018 school year.

All events start with a short introductory presentation and are followed by several hands-on activities where Gills are able to enhance their learning and demonstrate the concepts being presented.

Presentations for girls Ages 5 through 10 will run from 9:00AM until 10AM, while Gills aged 11 and older will meet from 10:30AM through 12PM

Admission is Free / Recommended Age is 5 to 14.
