Golf Tournament to Raise Money for Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod

Boys and GirlsMASHPEE – The Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod is holding its annual Golf Tournament for Kids on Monday.

The event features a round of golf on the Ocean Course at New Seabury Golf Club, live and silent auctions and a beach-side dinner at the Popponesset Inn.

The proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the afterschool and summer programs for almost 1,000 kids and teens on Cape Cod.

“We have to raise close to $750,000 every year from scratch to stay open and serve all of these kids,” said Ruth Provost, the executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod. “I really don’t know what these kids would do if we weren’t here.”

The auction dinner will be held immediately following the golf outing and people can purchase tickets for the entire day or for just the dinner and auctions.

The auction features several special and unique items, including four State Street Pavilion Red Sox tickets for “Big Papi” David Ortiz’s last regular season game at Fenway Park. The tickets are in the second row behind home plate and includes VIP parking.

There are also four tickets to a 2016 New England Patriots game and include a pre-game, on-field photo opportunity and dinner for four at Davio’s Steak House in Patriot Place.

Other items include a week in Mexico, a two week stay in Orlando in February with 4 Disney Park Hopper Passes, a two-night stay for two at the Chatham Wayside Inn, a round of golf at Ocean Edge, a seal watch or a one-week stay in August at a private home on the Beach in Sandwich.

Provost said there are still golf opportunities available. The register and for more information visit boysgirlscapecod.org.
