Gosnold Teams Up With CCBL’s Bourne Braves To Host Event Today

BourneBraves150BOURNE – Gosnold on Cape Cod is teaming up with the Cape Cod Baseball League’s Bourne Braves Friday afternoon.

“Playing above the influence” is a substance-free event taking place at Doran Park in Bourne at 4 p.m. and includes a meet and greet with Braves players and former Celtic Chris Herren, K-9 demonstration by the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office and slip-n-slide created by the fire and rescue department.

The event is free and open to the public.

Gosnold CEO and President Ray Tamasi said he hopes the event makes an impact.

“This is also part of our overall effort to try to engage and change the culture of the community about drugs and alcohol and about recovery,” said Tamasi.

Food will be provided and an autographed baseball and various gift certificates will be awarded as raffle prizes.

Event t-shirts, provided by the Cape Cod Five Foundation, will also be handed out at the event.

The event is sponsored by the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office, Cape Cod Five Foundation, Convention Data Services and Cape Cod Broadcasting.
