Governor Baker Endorses Sheriff Cummings for Re-Election

BARNSTABLE – Governor Charlie Baker is endorsing Barnstable County Sheriff Jim Cummings in his bid for re-election.

Cummings is seeking his fourth six-year term as sheriff and faces Democrat Randy Azzato in next Tuesday’s election.

“I proudly offer my endorsement of Sheriff Jim Cummings’ re-election as the Sheriff of Barnstable County,” said Governor Baker.

Cummings has received the support of Falmouth, Sandwich, Barnstable, Truro, and Mashpee police unions.

“I am honored to have the endorsement of Governor Baker,” said Cummings. “I appreciate the way Governor Baker puts the people of Massachusetts ahead of politics. He has been a great partner with law enforcement and I look forward to continuing to work together in the years to come.”
