Grandmothers Against Gun Violence Host Mega Standout Vigil in Hyannis

HYANNIS – Grandmothers Against Gun Violence hosted their first Mega Standout Vigil in Hyannis yesterday to call attention to their fight for increased gun safety.

The event featured dozens of supporters standing at the airport rotary in Hyannis with both homemade and manufactured signs waving to the hundreds of motorists.

“This is to bring attention and awareness of some of the gun issue,” explained Pat Hatch, President of Grandmothers Against Gun Violence, “Yes we are one of the safest states in the country but there are other issues that we look at.”

The organization has been hosting smaller demonstrations on the 14th day of each month for the last five years to call attention to gun violence in America.

In the future all are welcome to participate in the Grandmothers against Gun Violence Standout Vigils, from teenagers to senior citizens and members of local civic organizations.
