YARMOUTH – Grandmothers Against Gun Violence will launch a LOCK IT UP campaign next week at the Yarmouth Police Station.
The organization, which is committed to gun safety, is calling on responsible gun owners to keep firearms locked up in an effort to save young lives from accidental injury or death.
The program will distribute rack cards which contain important gun safety information to Cape Cod police stations, libraries, post offices and medical offices.
The launch event is next Thursday, November 30 from 3 to 6 p.m.
Speakers include Yarmouth Police Chief Frank Frederickson, Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe and Patricia Hatch, the president of Grandmothers Against Gun Violence.
Gun storage boxes and gun locks will be raffled off for free.
