Barnstable Grant Project Proposal Deadline Drawing Near

BARNSTABLE – Proposals are being accepted by The Town of Barnstable Planning and Development Department, for the Community Development Block Grant. 

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development funds the CDBG with the goal of providing affordable housing, economic opportunities and more, to residents with low to moderate incomes.  It also aims to assist those with special needs and the homeless. 

Total available funding is estimated at just over $283,000, but will increase if there are any carry over funds and/or program income.  The amount put towards public service activities is limited to 15%. 

Preference may be given to proposed projects which take into consideration the goals in the Downtown Hyannis neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area. 

Letters of interest should be sent to the Barnstable Planning and Development Department.  The deadline is the 28^th at 4:00 PM.
