HYANNIS – A Cotuit man was found guilty of Murder in the First Degree, a Barnstable jury convicted Christopher Fratantonio of the crime on Friday, he stabbed his wife to death on February 28, 2017.
After the guilty finding, Fratantonio, 37, was subsequently sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole by Judge Gary Nickerson.
The jury deliberated for about two hours before returning the verdict after a five day trial.
Police investigating the case said that Fratantonio confessed to the crime that took place at the couple’s home at 89 Trout Brook Road in Cotuit; Mary Fratantonio was found in the home with multiple stab wounds, she was a special education teacher at Barnstable High School.
Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe thanked the jury and his staff in a statement and says he hopes the family feels some closure with the verdict and sentence.
