Self-Escort Zone Removed from Nauset Beach South Oversand Trail

ORLEANS – The Orleans Natural Resources Department has removed the H.C.P. Self-Escort Zone on Nauset Beach South Trail.

Access to Nauset Beach South will no longer be limited to the specific H.C.P. windows.

All vehicles will be asked to leave the beach by 11 p.m., unless they are actively fishing or self-contained.

Parking at Trail 3 and 5 will continue to be limited due to the recent weather patterns that once again reduced the beach profile.

Additionally, limited parking will also be available at the Trail 1 entrance on Nauset Beach South.

Trail 2, 4, 6 and all of Chatham will continue to be closed.

All dogs on Nauset Beach South must be kept on a leash no longer than 30 feet at all times.

Due to the limited available space for parking on the Nauset Beach South and Nauset Spit, the town is encouraging beachgoers to park perpendicular to the water and arrange seating on the Oceanside of the vehicle.
