Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod Plans Build Trip to Mexico

YARMOUTH PORT – A team of volunteers with Habitat for humanity of Cape Cod is making a trip to Nayarit, Mexico early next year to assist a family in constructing a home and to learn more about the community and culture of Mexico.

The 2019 Trip is being led by Tricia Vos, who has led 15 Global Village Trips all over the world and is certified by Habitat International.

“There is this program called Global Village that habitat international puts out and we decided to become a part of that two years ago,” said Tara Cronin, volunteer services coordinator for habitat of Cape Cod.

“A Global Village is when we send volunteers from our area to another country to build a home with a family in that country.”

The trip remains open to anyone interested in taking part and will run from Saturday, March 9th to Sunday, March 17th.

Volunteers must be age 16 or older. No construction experience is required and suitable tasks at the build site can be found for people of all abilities.

The cost of the trip is $1,480.  This fee qualifies as a tax-deductible donation to Habitat for Humanity Cape Cod.

The trip cost covers all necessary expenses while in Mexico but does not include flights to/from the project location.
