Habitat for Humanity Opens New ReStore in Falmouth

FALMOUTH – Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod has officially opened the doors of their new Falmouth ReStore.

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price, recycling the items and keeping them out of landfills.

The new 10,000 square foot facility is located at 805 Gifford Street in Falmouth and will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00am until 5:00pm.

This is the second Cape Cod location for the ReStore, with another located on Whites Path in South Yarmouth since 2012.

Funds raised from the sales from both stores are dedicated to supporting Habitat’s program of building homes on Cape Cod to be purchased at an affordable price by local families with serious housing needs.

The stores are staffed by a team of volunteers and more are needed for the new space.

“Volunteering at the ReStore is a great way to meet new friends and have fun while doing some good for the community.” said manager Peter Small.

Available volunteer positions range from customer service to receiving and preparing donations, and then moving the merchandise into display areas.

Those interested in viewing merchandise can do so online, both locations have an active Facebook page under the name ReStore Cape Cod where new items and prices are uploaded daily.
