HAC Announces New Board Members

HYANNIS – The Housing Assistance Corporation has announced four new members to its Board of Directors.

They include Ashley Moore Baker, Catherine Baker, Dr. Kumara Sidhartha and Raymond Tamasi.

Ashley Baker is currently the Deputy Vice President of Institutional Giving for the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW). Prior to this role, she served as Development Director for the Cape Cod Foundation and for the YWCA of Asheville. Her commitment to affordable housing started during her master’s program in Community Economic Development and her work as a Housing Analyst with the Vermont Housing Conservation Board. She lives with her husband and two children in Chatham.

Catherine Baker, who formerly served as the Operations Director at Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP), is now an Advancement Associate at Cape Cod Academy. She has recently been named a 2018 Cape & Plymouth Business Magazine 40 Under 40 Honoree. She lives in Cotuit.

Sidhartha, the medical director at Emerald Physicians in Hyannis, has been in preventative medical practice for more than 15 years with a focus on nutrition. He has been Principal Investigator and Study Designer for Farm and Local Health Alliance for Fruit and Vegetables in Outcome-based RX program (FLAVORx), the nation’s first randomized controlled trial design to test blood tests for outcome measurements in a free fruit and vegetable prescription program for vulnerable populations. He lives in South Dennis.

Tamasi has over 40 years of experience managing treatment, intervention and prevention services. For 25 of those years he was Gosnold’s President/CEO. In 2017, Mr. Tamasi transitioned to become the President and Founder of the Gosnold Innovation Center. He is a member of Governor Charlie Baker’s Opioid Working Group, the Governor’s Special Commission on Behavioral Health and Prevention. He lives in Mashpee.

HAC works to ensure everyone on the Cape and Islands has a safe and stable place to live. The organization operates four homeless shelters, develops affordable housing, conducts foreclosure counseling and holds educational workshops for first-time homebuyers.
