HAC Seeks to Find Best Stuffed Quahog on Cape Cod

HYANNIS – For the third straight year, Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) is on the hunt for the best stuffed quahog on Cape Cod as part of its Quahog Challenge.

The event will take place on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at Trader Ed’s in Hyannis.

Eight restaurants, from Falmouth to Truro, will be competing against each other for the right to be crowned with the title of the tastiest stuffie on Cape Cod.

“It’s just a good time, we’ve got music going and all the money raised goes to Housing Assistance Corporation and all of our many programs that help those in need on Cape Cod,” said HAC Director of Community Relations Laura Reckford.

HAC is a 43 year old non-profit based in Hyannis, whose mission is to ensure that all on Cape Cod and the Islands have a safe, stable and decent place to live.

“We’re sort of the one stop shop for people who have a range of housing needs from being homeless, literally homeless and living in the woods, and we provide services for those people and case management and housing search for them,” said Reckford.

Attendees will sample a variety of stuffed quahogs and will get one vote to cast for their favorite.

Each guest will also receive one sample of ice cream and one sample of beer for those over 21.

Tickets are $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door, and $5 for kids 10 and under.

They can be purchased at quahogchallenge.org.
