NANTUCKET – The Housing Assistance Corporation will give Nantucket homeowners and tenants the chance to check up on their home’s energy efficiency, in association with National Grid.
Residents who qualify for n-grid electric discounts or fuel assistance may receive a free assessment from HAC contractors.
The session will include having light bulbs replaced with LED bulbs, a metering of refrigerators for possible replacement and the dissemination of additional energy conservation strategies.
Appliances deemed inefficient may qualify for complete replacement at no cost to the resident.
Additionally, if a home is eligible for additional weatherization work following the assessment, a contractor will be sent to provide the upgrades.
HAC Vice President of Program Operations Nancy Davison said the program provides residents a simple way of saving money.
“The people in the household will be warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer and have a lower utility bill,” Davison said.
Those interested may call HAC at (508) 771-5400.
