Harrington Enters 9th Congressional Race as Independent

harringtonCHATHAM – A Chatham resident is throwing his name in the race for the 9th Congressional seat.

Paul Harrington will be on the November 8 ballot as an Independent.

The 63 year old is an author, former business executive and attorney who is promising to shake up the race.

“I think in this election year it’s a good time for an Independent to be running,” said Harrington. “I think people are getting tired of the partisanship in Washington.”

Harrington is calling for an end to the two-party system and for party primaries to be abolished.

Falmouth Republican Mark Alliegro is facing incumbent Democrat Bill Keating for the seat.

“What’s happening in Washington is not helping the country and I think the two-party system is broken, so that’s the main reason I’m running and we’re going to get out there and get the message to people,” said Harrington.

Harrington was the founder and senior partner of Harrington Law Offices, P.C., a law firm with five offices in Eastern Massachusetts.

The 9th Congressional District stretches from Norwell and Rockland in the north to New Bedford and parts of Fall River and all of the Cape and Islands.
