WELLFLEET – A fall tradition on the Outer Cape is gathering wild cranberries.
Cape Cod National Seashore Ranger Jody Anastasio will lead a cranberry picking walk on Tuesday November 21st at 1:00.
The walk will traverse high dunes which offer spectacular views of East harbor followed by a descent into wild cranberry bogs.
Participants will learn about dune formation as well as the natural and cultural history of cranberries on Cape Cod.
It is recommended that you bring water, a container for your harvest and that you dress in layers to guard against the wind.
It is permissible to pick one gallon of cranberries per person per day within the Cape Cod National Seashore.
