Harwich Conservation Trust ‘Native Nightlife Walk’ at the National Seashore

HARWICH – In partnership with the Harwich Conservation Trust and the Cape Cod National Seashore, Todd Kelley and Native American Nipmuc/Wampanoag Marcus Hendricks will host a walk exploring the cultural, and natural, nightlife that the Cape has to offer.

Participants will get the chance to learn about the lifeways of the First People in relation to the rhythms of native flora, and fauna at dusk, and during the night.

This walk takes place around the time of the July full moon, also called the “Buck Moon,” which is the time when male deer have grown their antlers back as big as they will get for the year, but they are still in velvet form.

Walkers will also get to explore the many ways that the natural world flourishes after diurnal birds and animals go to bed and crepuscular wildlife as well as nocturnal wildlife become active.

The cost for the event is set at $20.00 per person and will take place on July 30th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Participants who register and pre-pay to attend the event will get meeting place directions in their e-mail.
