Harwich Conservation Trust Offering Walking Tour of the National Seashore Under the Sturgeon Moon

HARWICH – The Harwich Conservation Trust is inviting the public to take part in a guided evening walking tour through the National Seashore early next month.

The event will be led by 12th generation Cape Codder Todd Kelley and Wampanoag tribe member Marcus Hendricks who will lead participants on a cultural and natural nightlife tour of the cape.

Learn about the lifeways of long ago Native Americans as well as old Cape Codders in relation to native plants and animals at dusk and during the night.

This walk takes place around the time of the August full moon, also called the “Sturgeon Moon.”

Join in to learn about the past, explore wildlife dynamics at twilight, and experience the scenic beauty of the Cape Cod National Seashore.

The waking tour will take place on Monday, August 7th from 6 pm until 8 pm, with a rain date scheduled for Tuesday. The cost to participate is just 15 dollars.

There is some tricky terrain to contend with including soft sand, a wooden footbridge, and woodland trails. The walk is recommended for those 12 years and older. You can learn more at HarwichConservationTrust.org.
