Harwich Conservation Trust Plans Wildlife Tracking Workshop

HARWICH – Ever wonder if there’s been a coyote in your neighborhood? A workshop on May 21 at the Bell’s Neck Conservation lands in Harwich will focus on wildlife tracking.

Led by 15^th generation Cape Codder Todd Kelley, the workshop will search for clues left by otter, fox, deer, raccoons, skunks and coyotes.

It will also examine what these clues tell us about animal movements.

Meanwhile, the Harwich Conservation Trust will sponsor another workshop on the 28^th, this one, less about what’s on the ground and more about what’s in the air.

A Birding for Beginners workshop, also taught by Todd Kelley, will take place at the Robert F. Smith Cold Brook Preserve in Harwich Port.

Distinguish the tell-tale field marks like size, shape of bills, body size and wing shape which can help distinguish all of the hundreds of species the Cape is known for.

You’re likely to see one of the most striking birds on the Cape, the Eastern Bluebird.
