Harwich Conservation Trust to Host Guided Nature Walk

HARWICH – The Harwich Conservation Trust is sponsoring a leisurely evening walk later this month led by 12th generation Cape Codder Todd Kelley and Wampanoag/Nipmuc Marcus Hendricks.

On Monday, April 30, “Animal Kingdom Gaming” will allow attendees to hear stories and insights into Native life on Cape Cod before European contact, and see the natural world through a different lens using all senses.

Animal Kingdom Gaming also defines the structure of the program as each word describes a specific component or part of the walk.

The word Animal represents all sentient beings; Kingdom represents their habitats including trees, plants, rocks, water and weather; and Gaming describes the way we make observations as well as how to connect them to other observations.

The goal is for participants to gain enthusiasm for the perception skills developed to be used on their own nature walks.

The walk is $20 per person and will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

To register visit harwichconservationtrust.org. Directions to the location of the walk will be included in reservation confirmation emails.
