HARWICH – The Harwich Conservation Trust’s January and February Winter Talks kick off with an informational presentation about bald eagles.

“Bald Eagle Biology & Behavior” will be presented by Jason Zimmer with the Southeast Wildlife District of the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife on Saturday, January 12 at 2 p.m. at the Harwich Community Center.

Bald eagles have recently been observed in Harwich, Brewster, and other areas of Cape Cod.

Zimmer will educate guests about bald eagle natural history, the story of their decline, its listing on the federal Endangered Species Act, and recovery and monitoring efforts across the country and in Massachusetts.

Conservation efforts in the state’s Southeast District will be highlighted and Zimmer will also discuss current and potential nesting locations.

A suggested donation for the event is $5 per person.
